ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ವನ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅಭಿಯಾನ
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಜ್ಞಾನ ಭಾರತಿ ಪುಣ್ಯಧಾಮವಾಗಿರುವುದು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಸುಕ್ರುತ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವ ವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣದ ಬಯೋ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕದ ಕಣಜವಾಗಿ, ಇಂಗಾಲ ಹೀರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನೀರಿನ ಆಸರೆಯೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲ ಮರುಪೂರಣ ಕೇಂದ್ರವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗರ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯ. ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಂತೆ ಇಕೋತೆರಪಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಡಾ.ಯಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ ರೆಡ್ಡಿಯವರಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ವಿಶೇಷ ಚೇತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಆಶಾದೀಪವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಜ್ಞಾನ ಭಾರತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಸ್ವಾಟ್, ಗ್ರೀನ್ಸ್ ಆರ್ಮಿ ಫೋರ್ಸ್, ಮಿಡಿತ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್, ಜೀವನ್ಮುಕ್ತಿ, ಅದಮ್ಯ ಚೇತನ, ನೆರವು, ಯೂತ್ ಫಾರ್ ಸೇವಾ ಹೀಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಹಲವಾರು ಸಂಘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಜತೆಗೂಡಿ ಎರಡು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ ಜೈವಿಕ ಅರಣ್ಯ (Natural indigenous diversified Forest). ಮಾನ್ಯ ಯಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ ರೆಡ್ಡಿಯವರು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾ. ಟಿ.ಜೆ.ರೇಣುಕಾ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ರವರು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನೂರಾರು ಎಕರೆ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜೈವಿಕ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯ ವನ ಆಗಿದೆ. ನೂರಾರು ಜಾತಿಯ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದುಂಬಿಗಳು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ. ಈಗ ಇದನ್ನು ಕಾಂಕ್ರೀಟ್ ಕಾಡು ಮಾಡಲು ಹವಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪಂಚವಟಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಂಚವಲ್ಕಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಲದ ಮರಗಳು ತುಂಬಿವೆ. ಎರಡು ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಆಲ (ficus Krishnae) ಇರುವುದೂ ವಿಶೇಷ. ಭಾರತದ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮೊದಲಾಗಿದೆ ಬಯೋಡೈವರ್ಸಿಟಿ ಪಾರ್ಕ್. ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಂತೆ ಜಿಯೋ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಟ್ಟೆ, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಿಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿ ಬಯೋ-ಜಿಯೋ-ಹೈಡ್ರೋ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನ್ಯಾಕ್ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಗ್ರೇಡ್ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಇಂತಹ ದಿವ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಆಡಳಿತ ವರ್ಗ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರವ್ರತ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೇ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಲೀಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇತರೇ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮರು ಲೀಸ್ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ 2020ನೇ ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ನಿಂತ ಬಯೋ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಭಾಗ 1ನ್ನು ದಿಲ್ಲಿಯ ಯೋಗ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ, ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಯ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ನ್ಯಾಕ್, ಸಿಬಿಎಸ್ ಸಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿ, ಪಿಐಎಲ್ ಮೂಲಕ ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆ ತಂದು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನೋಂದಣಿಗಳು ರದ್ದಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.
ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಯುಪಿಸಿಸಿಗಾಗಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಎಕರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಿಗಳು ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಸಹಕಾರದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬಯೋ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಭಾಗ 8 ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ವನವಾಗಿತ್ತು ಮುಂದುವರೆದು ಈಗ ಯುಪಿಸಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಬೇರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಯುವಿಸಿಇಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಎಕರೆ ಕೊಡದಿರಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವರಿಗೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಈಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಜೆಸಿಬಿಗಳು ಕೆಲಸ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಆಗಿರುವ ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ವನ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಹಸಿರು ಮತ್ತು ಉಸಿರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೀರಿನ ನೆಲೆಯ ಕಣಿವೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಾಣದಾಯಕ ಆಗಿ ಉಳಿಯಲೇ ಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ 150ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಟ್ಟಡ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ಚದರ ಮೀಟರ್ ಮೀರಿದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡವಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೆರೆಡು ಅಂತಸ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವನ್ನೇ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ.
ಇತರೇ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆಪವೊಡ್ಡಿ ಕಾಂಕ್ರೀಟಿಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಜೈವಿಕ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯವನ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಲು ಹೊರಟಿರುವುದು ಖಂಡನೀಯ. ಪ್ರಾಣವಾಯು ಹಾಗೂ ಗುಟುಕು ನೀರಿಗೇ ಸಂಚಕಾರ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಇದನ್ನು ತಡೆಹಿಡಿದು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಆದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ವನ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕು.

It’s always said, when you can’t create something don’t attempt to destroy something. It’s irony that humans has to remind eachother everytime such cruel acts occur. We the residents staying close in and around Nagarbhavi are so lucky to have Bangalore University campus close to our are which is the natural Oxygen Cylinder and whatever happens we ppl have to stand up and give everything that we have to protect Bangalore University and possibly nurture it where possible… Let’s all stand United and raise our voices

Namma Bengaluru is now facing severe environmental crisis like drought, hot climate, less rainfall, ground water levels have dropped. Thanks to concrete jungle and unscientific development of roads, flyovers, underpass…which have contributed for uprooting and cutting of trees🌳🌲🌳.
